TENORM radiation protection patterns for the sustainable health of workers

Background: Coal production in Indonesia continues to increase meet national energy needs and export demand. Solid waste from the coal combustion process is estimated significantly. One of hazardous mining wastes TENORM, but some TENORM classified as goods with economic value. The problem this research that volume containing quite large, disposal, use, recycling has potential cause contamination for workers at steam power plant surrounding environment. Objective: purpose obtain a design model protection environment against radioactive ash through an analysis social perceptions regarding radiation effectiveness education workers. Methods: A mixed method quantitative approach was applied. Data were gathered field observation utilizing questionnaire instrument asked working Steam Power Plant Units 1 – 7 series written questions. Results: Prior Counseling, most Suralaya had shallow radiation, 88 percent unaware its effects. majority also paid between 100,000 500,000 IDR monthly medical expenses. All respondents agreed safety counseling utterly compelling, acceptance WTP estimates following Counseling being important aspect. Conclusion: There significant relationship variable after variables (0.730), knowledge (0.627) before (after Counseling), (0.648), according pattern SEM model.
